From the scarce records available in the archives, we can affirm that the Minde Band is now more than a century old. In the year and month marking its 110th anniversary, we join forces for a public conversation on the relevance of collectivism and musical societies in contemporary life.

The Matérias do Agora (Matters of Now) conversations are gatherings designed as collective dialogues, co-curated with young people from the Alcanena and Minde region, shaped by their concerns, interests, and urgencies. These are open, critical, and affective conversations that seek to create space for contemporary thought and collective debate on issues that affect us now — in our bodies, our homes, our schools, our rivers, and our media. In 2025, these conversations unfold across five distinct moments, each dedicated to an essential question of our time. In partnership with Sociedade Musical Mindense, we are adding a symbolic conversation to celebrate the 110th anniversary of this significant cultural institution, highlighting the enduring importance of community.
